SK Neil Robin WA7NBF – April 16, 2020

Neil passed away in Port Angeles, Washington due to age related health issues.  He was born on February 28, 1940 in Stockton, California.  Neil held a BSEE from Heald.  He worked at Tektronix from 1968 to the early 1990s when he joined AT&T Wireless in Washington state.

The technical side of Amateur Radio was always Neil’s passion and he enjoyed designing and building many elements of the hobby such as antennas, receivers, transmitters plus instrumentation. Hidden transmitter hunting (foxhunting) was a particularly exciting facet of the hobby; designing and perfecting an 80 meter receiver/antenna system. He often participated in 2 meter foxhunts in the Pacific Northwest or SW British Columbia. He participated and won medal(s) in national contests. His design of voice ID’d two meter “foxes” is well known using PIC controllers. He is survived by his wife Marsha KA7CZS.
